In 2019, Angela Moran-Manzitto and Sarah Peter opened their first of 4 Clean Juices in Lincoln, Nebraska. Their first store in the college town (Lincoln is home of the University of Nebraska) broke national sales records, and they’ve since expanded to Omaha as well. Angela and Sarah are currently zeroing in on a third location in an Omaha plaza where they will have a drive-thru and own the land. We spoke with them about their experience in franchising with Clean Juice.
Q&A
What made you decide to invest with Clean Juice?
Angela: I used to work as a physician’s assistant. I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to your health to watch what you put in your body, and I wanted a business that promotes healthy living to help reduce inflammation.
Sarah: We looked at other juice franchises, but Clean Juice was the superior product that we could truly believe in. The Clean Juice family culture sealed the deal. It was obvious the Clean Juice community just felt like family, where everybody felt like equals and supported one another. The two-week training felt the exact same way.
How are you enjoying the experience so far?
Sarah: Owning a Clean Juice is a labor of love. It is a lot of work, but it is very fulfilling as people tell us how they are eating better and feeling better as they change their diet. It’s rewarding to have access to such a great product and share it with the community. We are both busy moms and owning your own business is a lot, but there is some flexibility in being able to set hours on a family schedule. I really enjoy working with the employees and being a part of their lives. It’s like they are a part of our extended family.
How much training and support did you receive?
Sarah: Owning a business like this for the first time was a big step for us. It’s intimidating at first and the Clean Juice team made it clear they were there for us for whatever we needed. The Clean Juice training program has been a huge help in helping me understand what I need to do with the branding and marketing. I do a lot of outreach at women’s conventions and marathons and help to explain how organic juice can really help you. We are getting a lot of regulars and a lot of referrals in the community.
Angela: We also have an Franchise Business Consultant from the Home Office who is always a good resource. We have a community of owners and a technical support team.
How much do Clean Juice Franchise Partners make?
We will continue to grow and expect to be more profitable with our ongoing marketing and offering the public something they can feel good about. Clean Juice offers a product that we completely believe in and are proud to share with our community.
Are you happy as an owner of a Clean Juice franchise?
Angela: The business aspect is a challenge, but it’s fun! Being your own boss is a lot of responsibility to take on but if you truly believe in it and love it and have the team support behind you it is all worth it. We offer a truly healthy product and love educating our customers about it. Here in the Midwest an organic option is still a new concept for many. We stand behind our product and how it helps your body and the benefits of eating healthy and truly understanding the health effects.
